Tree Cutting in Farming Simulator 15

In Farming Simulator 2015 tree cutting was introduced as a new feature. The goal was to offer maximum freedom in how trees are cut. The player can decide the position and angle of the cut. This means that the tree mesh models cannot be pre-cut. The meshes are cut on the fly, and become a physical object once separated. Meshes thus need to be stored in a representation that enables real-time splitting. Furthermore, since falling trees may collide with the environment, the collision skin of the tree needs to be computed on the fly as well. The mass and moment of inertia of a cut tree varies with the location of the cut and also need to be computed in real-time.
